Constitution
Rm. 207 8th grade 2008

Preamble:
We the students in the classroom of 207, in the year of 2008, will establish our own government. In order to accomplish this perfect union, we will need to achieve respect, and honesty from one another, develop a responsible government, make all Men and Women equal, and accomplish complete harmony. This constitution will provide us the student full freedom from Mr. S, give us peace, care and safety for all the students in 207.

Article l:
The Legislative Branch.
Our Legislative Branch will consist of a House of Representatives and a Senate.

House of Representatives:

  • Each representative will have to contribute ideas for laws and rules.
  • Each representative shall be voted upon by the students.
  • Any laws, rules or changes to the Constitution shall be ran by the President and Vice President for approval.
  • The house of representatives shall consist of 6 students from the class of 207.
  • Every students is qualified to become a part of the House of Representatives.
  • Once you are chosen to be a representative; you shall keep your duty as a representative for the rest of the 8th grade 2008 school year.
  • If a representative breaks of the laws that have been made, they shall be released of their position as a representative, and a new election shall be held and a new representative will be voted into this committee.

Senate:

  • Each persons who is in the Senate will be deciding things such as when and where and how parties will be held; where we will go for field trips; functions of the class and such things as those.
  • Laws and decisions must go through the house of representatives for a check up and editing, and then to the President and Vice President and the President for a final approval.
  • There shall be a minimum of 3 senators from the class and a maximum of 6 senators.
  • Any student is eligible to qualify for being a senator.
  • Senators will also be selected by the students of 207.
  • The vice president will lead the senate and everything shall be looked over by he/she him/herself.
  • Senators also will have their job for the whole 8th grade school year unless of a violation of the law, then they shall be removed from office.

Article ll:
The executive Branch.
Our executive branch shall consist of the President and the Vice President.

President:

  • The president shall be elected by the students of room 207.
  • Voting will consist of all the students and including Mr. S.
  • The person with the most votes will become the President of room 207.
  • President shall serve for the whole duration of the rest of the 8th grade school year.
  • In order to qualify to be president, you must: have no suspensions. You must have a good or perfect attendance. You must be able to make decisions and not be afraid to express yourself and speak in front of others. You must be able to keep your grades up and homework in.
  • The president can veto or disapprove laws. He can also make 5 laws during his/her term.
  • The president shall not break any laws or rules or take his/her job to an advantage, cause then he/she will have to be impeached.

Vice President:

  • If so happens the President is ill, injured, or dead, then the Vice President automatically becomes President.
  • To determine who the vice president is, it is the person who had the 2nd highest vote in the election from 207.
  • When or if the Vice President shall become President, the person whom had the 3rd highest vote shall become Vice President.
  • In order to qualify to become a vice president, you have to be able to: keep your grades up and your work in. Be able to speak and share opinions and facts in front of people. Also be able to make good decisions and fast ones.
  • The Vice President shall also serve for the rest of the duration of the 8th grade 2008 school year.
  • If any rules or laws are broken, the Vice President shall be relieved from their position as the Vice President.

Article ll:
The Judicial Branch.

  • Our judicial branch shall consist of 3 members.
  • 1 Judge, 1 Defendant, and 1 prosecutor.
  • The job of the judicial branch is to hear and interpret situations going on in room 207. They shall decide how a person shall be punished for wrong doing, and even declaring if a President or Vice President shall be impeached.
  • Members of the Judicial branch shall have their job for 1 month, and then there will be a new election and new members will be voted in.
  • These members will make sure that when a rule is violated or broken, that the consequences are enforced and that they are giving in a clear, blunt statement.
  • If there is any favoring of certain students or hating on certain students, a member shall be fired immediately for be unfair.
